Effie li
Effie Li, 16, began studying piano at 4 years old with her aunt and started studying with Professor Ingrid Clarfield at 9 years old. As a duet team, Effie and her sister won second place in the national division of the MTNA Senior Piano Duet Competition. As a soloist, Effie won first place in the Piano Teachers Congress of New York Honors Program Competition. She also won second place in the Joseph Israel Bookstaber Memorial Competition, along with the silver award in the Bravura Young Artists Concerto Competition. She has also been a place winner for multiple years in the NJMTA Young Musicians Competition. Effie has performed in prestigious venues including Kaufman Center, NJPAC, Carnegie Hall, and in masterclasses with John Perry and Yoheved Kaplinsky. She also enjoys performing piano in nursing/senior homes.

Aaron Liu
Aaron Liu is a Junior at Syosset High School in Long Island, New York. He began to learn piano at age 5. He also plays clarinet in high school wind ensemble. Aaron has been pursuing additional music education and piano study in Precollege at Manhattan School of Music under Ms. Robin Freund- Epstein He is honored to be the recipient of “The Rochlis Family Foundation Precollege Scholarship” for 2022-23 and “The Constance Keene Precollege Scholarship” for 2023-24 at Manhattan School of Music. He performed at the 16th Annual NYSSMA Piano Showcase in Rochester, New York in 2022. He also won The Symphony of Westchester’s Young Artist Competition and performed a Mozart concerto with the Symphony of Westchester in the Young Artist Showcase Concert in 2023. He was a finalist in Nashville International Piano Competition in Apr 2023. He was also selected to present in Claudette Sorel Piano Fellows Program in SUNY at Fredonia in Nov 2023. In his spare time, Aaron learns painting from his mom, who is an oil painting artist.

Wilson Liu
10-year-old pianist Wilson Liu comes from California. At the age of 7, he was admitted to The Juilliard School Pre-College Division studying with Hung-Kuan Chen and Tema Blackstone. Wilson was fortunate to win the Bachauer Prize with full scholarship on his first year in Juilliard, and was nominated into the Artemisia Foundation as the youngest fellow where he’s received many opportunities to perform and work with great pedagogues. Recently, he participated in a film for “Now Hear This” presented by Great Performances on PBS. He also as the youngest guest, enjoyed performing with The Little Orchestra Society Kids, “Carnival of the Animals”. Wilson has won numerous piano competitions, including the Grand Prize in the XIV Chopin Piano Competition Hartford. In the competitions of 5th Florida Young Artists, Chicago international, WPTA international in Singapore, Chopin Avenue in Hong Kong, Elevato International in Austria, and the “Citta di Sarzana” Music Competition in Italy, etc., Wilson won top awards and garnered high accolades. Most recently, he won the Juilliard Pre-College Concerto Competition and got the opportunity to perform with PCSO.

Final Round Repertoire Requirements
At least three contrasting solo piano works lasting between 20 and 25 minutes.
One Baroque polyphonic work is required.
One virtuoso etude is required.
One or more solo piano works by Gabriel Fauré are encouraged but not required.
The following works by Gabriel Fauré may satisfy the “etude” requirement above.

Impromptu in F-sharp minor, op. 102 no. 5
Works from the recorded preliminary round may be repeated.
Single movements of larger works are acceptable.
